Our Cosplay Portfolio
The Barbarians
We were thrilled to take on a cosplay commission for a couple in Santa Fe who wanted to bring their D&D barbarian characters to life. The husband’s barbarian was inspired by bears, while the wife’s theme centered on crows, giving us a unique opportunity to design complementary yet distinct pieces. Prop Wizard created original artwork for the project, engraving intricate bear and crow motifs into the EVA foam armor and weapons. Each piece featured an internal harness system, making the armor easy to wear and remove. Meanwhile, Itty Bits crafted the clothing using muslin and leather, perfectly matching the rugged, natural aesthetic of the characters. Before delivering the final pieces, we stepped in as models, allowing us to showcase the costumes’ full potential. The finished creations were then hand-delivered to the couple in Santa Fe, making the project a memorable collaboration from start to finish.
Destroying Angel Mushroom
Inspired by the ethereal beauty of the destroying angel mushroom, this costume was a personal project designed for Itty Bits to wear at the Renaissance Festival. The standout feature was the mushroom hat, built from an EVA foam base and covered in soft white fleece, sprinkled with hand-stitched pearl beads for added texture and elegance. The gills beneath the hat were crafted from hand-stitched silk and white mesh, adding a delicate, realistic touch. The dress was a lucky found item, perfectly complementing the overall look. Prop Wizard brought the ensemble to life with glowing final details—shoulder mushrooms and accents on the hat were crafted from silicone and embedded with LED lights, creating a magical bioluminescent effect. This costume was a true labor of love, blending craftsmanship and creativity into a one-of-a-kind design.
Mandalorian Knight
This unique project brought a client’s vision to life by blending the Star Wars Mandalorian with the style of a Renaissance knight. Prop Wizard took charge of designing, building, and painting the entire costume, crafting the helmet and chest armor from EVA foam. The helmet featured magnets for an easily removable jawpiece, while the chest armor was equipped with a cargo strap harness to ensure comfort and ease of wear. To give the piece an authentic, battle-worn appearance, small details like bullet holes and realistic battle damage were meticulously added. This mash-up was a true testament to creative craftsmanship and innovation.
Thistle - Delicious in Dungeon
This project focused on replicating a character from the manga Delicious in Dungeon, showcasing Itty Bits’ skill in costume design. To achieve the character's look, Itty Bits carefully edited pre-made patterns and drafted custom ones. The outer layer of the costume was crafted from synthetic silk, while the interior was fully lined with cotton for comfort. Practicality was also key, with a long zipper up the back for easy wear and removable bells along the hemline, adding both charm and functionality.
Bockfest Animals
These two forest spirits, a bear and a rabbit, were designed for the annual Bockfest in New Ulm, Minnesota. Held in the woods in early March, this festival was the perfect setting for such nature-inspired costumes. Prop Wizard created the masks from EVA foam, skillfully carving them to resemble weathered wooden masks. Itty Bits crafted the clothing, lining each piece with faux fur for warmth and embellishing them with bells to celebrate and welcome the good spirits of spring. This project beautifully captured the essence of the season and the magic of the forest.
Cannibal Cult
Our cannibal cultist build for the Dead End Hayride was our largest commission to date, and we couldn’t be prouder of the results. This project involved creating five original costumes for actors who bring fear to life during the Hayride. The designs included four general cultists and one grand priest, each meeting the requirements of full body coverage, comfort, and unrestricted mobility for the performers. Every costume featured a custom-made mask, and three included matching weapons. The masks, weapons, and gruesome 'leather' faces were crafted from EVA foam, while the blood and guts were realistically created using theater blood and silicone. This ambitious build was a thrilling challenge and a rewarding achievement for our team.
Misc. Weapons
We don’t just focus on full costume builds—sometimes a single weapon is all you need to complete your look. Making weapons is how Prop Wizard got his start, and it remains a core part of what we do today. From swords and axes to original designs and replicas, each piece is crafted from EVA foam with PVC reinforcement for durability. Need your weapon to be LARP battle-safe? We’ve got you covered! Every weapon is hand-painted to look as realistic (and 'sharp') as possible, ensuring it’s both functional and visually striking.
