Welcome to Veiled Vortex Creations

Veiled Vortex bloomed from a shared love of making things that feel a little otherworldly—costumes, props, and art that blur the line between forest magic and reality. Sierra and Jonah first met while working at the Science Museum of Minnesota, finding every excuse to collaborate on creative projects just to spend a little more time together. The best excuse of all came in 2021, when they were both assigned to Cardboard City, an exhibit that let them spend hours building giant sculptures and talking about everything under the sun. Somewhere between the glue guns and cardboard towers, a partnership began to take root. Now, four years later, they live together with their two cats, still making art, costumes, and a bit of magic—side by side.

Itty Bits
Sierra Schaefer

I’m a multimedia artist with a deep love for textiles and the magic of nature. My inspiration comes from the tiny, intricate details found in moss, leaves, bugs, frogs, and hidden gems. I adore sewing clothing, costumes, accessories, and unconventional art that tells a story. My favorite projects are those where I get to bring someone’s original character or idea to life—it’s a joy to transform imagination into reality.

The Prop Wizard
Jonah Eslinger

I'm a freelance fabricator and artist. I dabble in a lot of mediums, with a specific focus on 3D arts. I enjoy 3D modeling, printing and building. My greatest joy comes from taking something from a drawing or model and bringing it into the world as a prop, costume or installation. As an illustrator, I enjoy making arcane designs and finding places to put them on my work.

I seek to transform ideas into realities.
